You should understand that this is only the tip of the iceberg. If you just needed an introduction, it is OK to stop here. But for bigger things you must go through RFC 1889 and that is not enough. You have to work yourself to be a master in applications employing RTP.
RFC 1889 has been superceeded by RFC 3550. Thanks to John York for pointing it out.
